The course could be a weekend or a day, we can also offer accommodation if needed.

Our workshop and accommodation are set in a tranquil, rural North Worcestershire countryside.

Basic upholstery and furniture restoration courses

The course offers basic skills and techniques used to upholster or repair a piece of your furniture, showing how to make simple repairs including making good the frame, filling in holes, glueing joints, and how to handle fabrics and materials correctly. We also show you how to cut, stitch and fix materials such as webbing hessian animal hair, coil fibre and wadding. We will also show you the skills in making your cushions and throws. We spend time explaining how to handle tools correctly including hammers, tack lifters, ripping chisels etc.

Bring your project small items of furniture only, such as dining chair with a drop-in seat, small footstool, or even a headboard, we supply all the tools you will need, should you like to bring your own please do. It is also better if you bring your material/fabric, however, we do keep the fabric in stock should you need it. There would be a charge and this is worked out by the metre.
